Book Review by Readers
As I finished each story there was a soft bond that formed with the characters. Few stories left me with a deep thought and few left me with a spine chill. This book has taught me many things at an emotional level. As I always say not only mental knowledge but we need emotional knowledge as well.
Few chapters that I loved from the book are :
Clowned: Does a clown put on the mask because he is hiding a grief and sadness on his face? Does a clown always think about others happiness before his? Does a clown also has feelings and take drastic measures when time comes?
Room no 45: An old man in room 45 keeps staring at the door and keeps repeating one sentence “ Beta you must be angry I did not buy those new shoes for your 10th birthday “ Why did he not buy shoes for his son? Why is he in old age home?
It is a perfect book for beginners with lucid writing style and very practical approach. If you are looking for a short and crisp read, pick this one up.
Rahul has done a commendable job in putting this book together. Somehow I feel he has put his heart out in the book and reading this I surely have known Rahul better as a person and his beliefs. Thank you Rahul for bringing this book among us and compiling such impactful stories.
The stories are chosen on the topics that we would usually ignore in our busy lives. The kind that we wish to tend to, but unfortunately, hadn’t had a chance. The stories in this book, felt like a reminder, that life isn’t about the chase, its about living it. And during the times that we forget about living, it adds up onto the pile of regrets that we might have later.
There are forty stories in total, and forty things to learn about life that we already know but wouldn’t acknowledge.
The writing was simple, with easy language, but few grammatical errors could be easily spotted. Some work could be done on the narration, as there were a number of instances when the narrator missed something or the act seemed more pretentious than casual. Some stories felt like they ended even before they started, making their plot incomplete and leaving the reader with too many questions.
